Buena Vista PTA Mission:
To promote the welfare of children by supporting teachers and parents while providing enrichment activities for students so they have the best advantages in physical, mental, and social education.
Notes from the President:
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at Buena Vista Montessori! Many new and exiting events are happening at our school this year, and the PTA and SAC are hopeful that the visions we have for our children will prosper!
As we begin this school year, the committies that support the school (PTA and SAC) are aware of the unfortunate budget cuts educational facilities all over the state and country are suffering through. In the spirit of community, we are asking each family to consider what the Montessori education is worth to our children. The Montessori method is generally not free to obtain for students; however, through D11 it is; up to a certain point. The materials used in our classrooms and the outdoor education we hope for the future do have a steep price tag. D11 supports our efforts to grow a garden, build a greenhouse, start an orchard, put up fencing in front of the primary hallway, and expand our school to include sixth grade; and middle school in the future. That support however, does not include the financing to make these dreams come true. We encourage each family to imagine how much this education would cost if your child was not attending Buena Vista. We realize that many families are feeling the same financial crunch as the district; however, consider that $0.50 per day equals $182.50 per year. If each family at BV donated $0.50 per day, our community would have $25,550 at the end of the year to support the education of our children.
The vision of the PTA is to create a community of parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends who want the best for our students. We welcome your thoughts, comments, questions, and concerns. Please check-out the calendar to see our upcoming events. Also, please consider volunteering your support for an event that you have a passion for. We want all of our volunteers to be passionate about the end goal of the best education for our children!
