BAAC Notes
This year, the BAAC oversaw the purchase of 2 Apple Mobile Learning Labs. Each mobile cart contains 10 computers and accessories such as video cameras, printers and iPods. The purchase of the labs will enable BVES students to conjoin Montessori principles with technology and move our learning into the 21st century. A presentation of the equipment will be made in the fall at the Open House on Sept. 22. The purchase of the equipment was made possible through Site Determined Funds that were made available after a voter approved bond issue.
Although complete results of this year’s CSAP scores will not be available until the fall, we have excellent news to report concerning the 3rd grade reading scores. 88% of our 3rd graders scored Proficient and Advanced. This is a 13% increase over last year’s results! Congratulations need to go out to all of our teachers, tutors, students and their parents.
The BAAC is also proud to report the all of the goals set forth in the School Improvement Plan for this year have been met. The SIP for next year will be made in the fall. Based on the initial release of our 3rd grade CSAP scores, we anticipate the Buena Vista will make its Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) targets for the year. A complete reporting of the academic growth of our students will be forthcoming in the fall.
The meeting time for the BAAC next year is on the third Monday of each month at 2:30 PM.
