Regular meetings will be the second Tuesday of each month at 6 pm

Best regards,

Movie Nights

September 2nd, 2008

We will continue to host Family Movie Night each month with students choosing the feature presentation by voting on a pre-screened selection of family rated movies.

Please bring a chair or blanket and join us for popcorn and drinks along with other snacks.

It’s a great time to kick back and enjoy a favorite movie on the big screen.

Annual PTA Fundraiser – Dutch Mill bulbs

September 2nd, 2008

We received so much positive feedback that we will be selling Dutch Mill bulbs again.

Look for all the information in your child’s Friday Folder. The money raised will support student enrichment activities and the Back Yard Project.

For new parents, the Back Yard Project is a long-term undertaking to improve the playground and other areas of the school grounds for the benefit of the students and the entire neighborhood. One of our improvements from last years fundraising are the two “spinning seats” added to our playground last spring.

Order forms are due back to the school by Friday, September 19.

A pizza party will be awarded to the class that returns the most completed order forms and also to the
class that has the highest in sales.

PTA Message from Natasha Walker, President

September 1st, 2008

Welcome to yet another incredible school year here at Buena Vista!

We, the PTA board, are excited about all the wonderful activities planned for the 2008-2009 school year!

Most importantly, we are looking forward to seeing both old and new faces at our monthly meetings. Regular PTA meetings will be held the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6-7 p.m. in the school library.

We have started something new this year to accommodate families attending PTA meetings. We will host a homework club for children of all ages in the adjoining classroom. There will be an IB student from Coronado High School present to help with homework, reading and oversee activities for younger children. It is our primary goal to expand our PTA community. We hope this accommodation will encourage PTA participation.

We thank you in advance for supporting your children and their school through your participation in PTA! We will see you at our first meeting on September 9!

Your PTA Board—
Natasha Walker, President;
Beth Roalstad, Vice President;
Kathy New, Secretary;
Ruth Roland Treasurer.
